Vibrant fight for the quarterfinals of IBIZA 2022

The competition continues this Friday from 9:00 a.m. and can be followed in livestream.

The day 2 of the IBIZA 2022 European U15 Championship left once again a great day of badminton. 104 matches have been played, the round of 32 and the round of 16 of the singles and mixed doubles.

The matches has confirmed the level of the European academy and also that the main favorites are looking for the medals: all the first and second seededs has moved on.

One of them is the Ibizan Yaidel Gil, second seeded in men’s singles, as other players as the Portuguese Tiao Berenguer, the Polish Kaja Ziolkowska or the Turkish Aleyna Korkut.

In doubles competition,  French Arthur Tatranov – Thomas Tournefier and the Germans Linus Emmerich – Leon Kaschura stand out; in women, the Ukrainians Raiia Almalalha – Sofia Bielobrovchuk and the Belgians Fae Boonen – Lieke Van Paris; and as for the mixed, the Ukrainian duo of Vladyslav Kunin – Almalalha and the German of Emmerich – Maike Iffland.

This Friday the competition starts again at 9:00 a.m. and can once again be followed live on the Badminton Spain YouTube channel. On this day, 46 matches will be played: the round of 16 of the doubles by gender, the quarterfinals and the semifinals.

Badminton is being breathed in Ibiza during almost the entire month of September, as it is chaining three international tournaments whose grand finale will be the European U15 Championships. Thanks to the invaluable support of the Consell Insular d’Eivissa  and the Eivissa City Council, and the predisposition of the Balearic Badminton Federation and Badminton Ibiza, this city is the Spanish and European capital of badminton.
