The countdown is over: time for the European U15 Championships in IBIZA 2022
European badminton has an appointment from today until saturday: the IBIZA 2022 European U15 Championship. It starts this Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. and can be followed live on the YouTube channel of the Spanish Badminton Federation. This competition brings together more than 200 athletes from more than 30 countries.
This is a high level event, checking the medalists of previous editions as Thom Gicquel (Bronze 2014), Arnaud Merkle (Bronze 2014), Alexandra Bøje (double gold in 2014), Christo Popov (double silver in 2016 ) and Alex Lanier (gold in 2018) and Kaloyana Nalbantova (bronze 2020). All of them are players who shined out in the U15 category and are compiting now at the highest level.
Spain, once again, is consolidated as one of the references in event organization after the 2021 Huelva Senior and Absolute World Championships and the designation of Madrid as the venue for the 2022 Absolute European Championship.
This 2022 is a year full of challenges for Spanish badminton, since in addition to the events already mentioned, Santander will be the venue for the BWF World Junior Championships in Santander.

Badminton is being breathed in Ibiza during almost the entire month of September, as it is chaining three international tournaments whose grand finale will be the European U15 Championships. Thanks to the invaluable support of the Consell Insular d’Eivissa and the Eivissa City Council, and the predisposition of the Balearic Badminton Federation and Badminton Ibiza, this city is the Spanish and European capital of badminton.
