The favorites to get the title make their way into the IBERDROLA Spanish International
The IBERDROLA Spanish International has experienced its second day of competition. It was the opening of the final phase and in it the favorites have not failed. Despite the stumble of Carlos Piris, the number one seeded in men’s singles, the rest of the favorites have managed to advance to the second round in all modalities.
Spanish badminton has hardly been able to shine in the individual events but it has stood out in the doubles, qualifying 10 pairs for the next round, starting with the great contenders for the men’s doubles title, Carlos Piris and Joan Monroy.
The competition continues this Thursday with the duels of round of 16 and quarterfinals. The day starts at 9:00 a.m. and can be followed live on Badminton Europe TV.
Thursday will be reserved for the semi-finals and finals, which can also be followed live.
Badminton is being breathed in Ibiza during almost the entire month of September, as it is chaining three international tournaments whose grand finale will be the European U15 Championships. Thanks to the invaluable support of the Consell Insular d’Eivissa and the Eivissa City Council, and the predisposition of the Balearic Badminton Federation and Badminton Ibiza, this city is the Spanish and European capital of badminton.
